Institutional Service

Provide care, rehabilitation, training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities. There are 11 institutions for people with disabilities as follows:-

Taman Sinar harapan(TSH)

  1. TSH Introduction
    Taman Sinar Harapan is an institution devoted to learning disabilities disabled people who need care, training, rehabilitation and protection. There are 7 Taman Sinar Harapan operating in Malaysia.
  2. Objective
    • • Provide care, protection and rehabilitation of the disabled, those with learning difficulties are abandoned, orphaned, has no guardian and who need remedial training.
    • • Provide self-management training or training activities of everyday life so that they can do themselves without help from others.
    • • Provide pre-vocational training so that they can live independently.
    • • Giving them the opportunity to interact or socialize with friends, community or other people through social activities and so on.
    • • Provide social skills training and to seek the cooperation of voluntary organizations for the purpose of integration with the community..

Pusat Latihan Perindustrian dan Pemulihan Bangi (PLPP)

  1. PLPP Introduction
    • Pusat Latihan Perindustrian dan Pemulihan Bangi is an institution under the Department of Social Welfare that provide services to disabled members (OKUs) through vocational training and medical rehabilitation
  2. Objective
    • • Provide comprehensive services to OKU members to get vocational training and medical rehabilitation.
    • • Restoring the skills that have been lost due to an accident to improve their ability to work and self-reliance.
    • • Taking a initial step of rehabilitation to prevent disabilities worsen.
    • • Provide services as a resources reference and training of medical students, therapists, prosthetic and orthotic technicians as well as other personnel requiring.
    • • Become a reference point to conduct research related to OKU.

Bengkel Terlindung (BT)

  1. BT Introduction
    • Bengkel Terlindung was established in accordance with the Rules of the Sheltered Workshop in 1979. Bengkel Terlindung is reserved of Persons with Disabilities which is not competitive to get jobs in the open market. Institutions are as follows:-

      • • Bengkel Daya Sungai Petani
  2. Objective
    • • Create employment opportunities for people with disabilities (OKU).
    • • Upgrading the capabilities, abilities, knowledge and skills of people with disabilities (OKU).
    • • Provide a source of income to people with disabilities (OKU).

Pusat Harian Bukit Tunku

  1. i. Introduction
    • Pusat Harian was officially opened on June 6, 1989 by the Y.B Datuk Mustafa bin Mohamad, Malaysia's Minister of Social Welfare. Admitted mental illness patient who has been undergoing medical treatment at Hospital Permai in Johor Bahru, Hospital Bahagia in Tanjung Rambutan, at the Kuala Lumpur General Hospital to undergo treatment provided at the Centre Daily Bukit Tunku,so that these patients can be absorbed early into the community.
  2. Objective
    • • To help restore the capabilities or ability that can help them to live more independently in the community.
    • • To realize the capabilities and abilities of a patient and cultivate that capabilities or ability.
    • • To improve patient responsibility for themselves soul and also for others.
    • • To educate patients about adaptation in their daily lives.
