The Conditions for Establishment of Care Centres
The conditions for setting up TASKA are as follows:
- Registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) or the Registrar of Societies (ROS).;
- Meet JKM minimum standards:
- The ratio of guardian to occupants:
- • Kids / Teenagers
- Below 4 years old = 1 : 5
- 4 to 10 years old = 1 : 18
- 10 years and above = 1 : 18
- • Disabled People ( OKU )
- OKU = 1 : 10
- OKU severe / lying= 1 : 4
- • Senior Citizen
- Senior Citizen = 1 : 18
- Diseased senior citizens / bedridden = 1 : 4
- • Kids / Teenagers
- Citizens or non-citizen guardian must be aged 18 years and over;
- Comply with the floor space ratio of occupants which is :
- • Children below 10 years old and OKU are 3.5 square metres;
- • Teenagers and senior citizen are 3.0 square metres ;
- Prepare and display a balanced diet menu schedule and daily activities schedule according to occupant's age levels;
- Care centre have the necessary equipment and appropriate furniture, safe and sufficient for the needs of occupants;
- Prepare and maintain records in care centre; and
- Maintain cleanliness and safety on and off the care center premise.
- The ratio of guardian to occupants:
- Have the support or approval from technical agencies such as:
- • Local Authorities (PBT);
- • Fire and Rescue Department;
- • Health Department; and
- • Department of Lands and Survey (Sarawak only)
